Youtube Deletes R. Kelly's Accounts Following His Conviction for Sex Trafficking

YouTube has taken down R. Kelly's official channels following his conviction for sex trafficking charges last week.


The jury said that the R&B artist took advantage of his status to exploit unsuspecting women and young girls.


The gullible folks were converted into Kelly's sex slaves rather than obtaining much-needed assistance with their music.


His two channels had over 5 million subscribers.


His two accounts, RKellyTV and RKellyVevo, were permanently suspended for what YouTube termed as "violation of its terms of service."


The move bars the singer from owning new channels or creating any YouTube content.


In an official statement issued by YouTube's vice president, Nicole Alston, the decision was reached based on the possibility of Kelly's misconduct to cause widespread harm.


"Egregious actions committed by R. Kelly warrant penalties beyond standard enforcement measures due to a potential to cause widespread harm," Nicole said.


Furthermore, YouTube's action aims to protect its users, a move that the company hopes to replicate on other platforms.


"Ultimately, we are taking this action to protect our users, similar to other platforms," Nicole added.


The MuteKelly movement, which has been advocating for a total muzzle on the artist, took to Twitter to ask Amazon, Spotify, and Apple to remove all of his music from their platforms.

R. Kelly is scheduled to be sentenced in May of next year and faces the possibility of spending the rest of his life in jail.


Kelly's accounts have since been suspended on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

Kabianga University closed down following Student dissatisfaction over fee increase
