Burundi government fires all married state officers with side chicks

Burundi's president, General Évariste Ndayishimiye, has ordered the sacking of all government officials involved in extramarital affairs.

The edict, according to the president, is targeted at married state officers who have concubines.

According to a statement delivered by Gervais Ndirakobuca, Minister of Internal Security, any married statesmen who have illegal relationships outside of their marriage risk being expelled.

The directive, presented in French, also stated that all government officials working in the public sector across Burundi are not allowed to have girlfriends.

"You cannot have that privilege to have a girlfriend. It is not going to be tolerated in this government," read the statement in part.

The move has sparked controversy in the country, with one faction claiming that it directly violates people's rights.

"It's useless. They should use such energy to fight corruption, not this nonsense. African states can do everything to oppress people but will never fight corruption and inequality in governments," one person said.

Another group praised the move, saying it was long overdue for the country to regain its moral compass.

"That's moral value at a new level. Quite impressive from an African country," another comment read.

In 2017, Burundi's late president, Pierre Nkurunziza, issued a similar edict, requiring all non-married people living together to have their marriages officiated or face legal consequences.

The developing country has been through a lot, with the majority of its population living below the poverty line.

Youtube Deletes R. Kelly's Accounts Following His Conviction for Sex Trafficking

The jury said that the R&B artist took advantage of his status to exploit unsuspecting women and young girls. Kabianga University closed down following Student dissatisfaction over fee increase

In a memo released by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Elijah Omwenga, all the students were instructed to vacate the school premises by 3:30 PM EAT. The comrades who had just reported back to school were perplexed to learn of the 40% fee increase, something that didn't sit well with them.
