A 32-year-old man attempted to take away his life after allegedly killing his wife over loan issues.

The suspect, identified as Nickson Sang, hails from Kipresres in Bomet County.

According to reports from the local administrative unit, Sang committed the heinous deed by cutting the throat of his 25-year-old wife and dumping her near their home.

Robert Kataam, the area chief, said that Sang's move to dump the body was an attempt to cover up for his crime.

Neighbors who discovered the dead rushed over to his house, intending to beat him severely.

Sang, on the other hand, was found writhing in anguish on the floor after ingesting a toxic chemical.

The victim was rushed to Longisa Referral Hospital, where he is still undergoing treatment.

Villagers have remained enraged over the incident, promising to teach him a lesson.

Their dispute is said to have been sparked by a debt they recently took out from Mullot Trading Center.

The amount has not yet been revealed.

The deceased's body was moved to Longisa Mortuary, and funeral arrangements are set to begin immediately.

Several people who got wind of the matter have expressed their sadness while remaining hopeful that justice will be served at last.

Police have launched an investigation into the matter.
