James Gakara, a Nakuru-based doctor suspected of murdering his two minors aged 3 and 5, has died.

James, suspected of poisoning his sons to death, died earlier today while seeking treatment at the Nakuru Level 5 hospital.

Gakara, who was found unconscious at his Milimani home, has been in the Intensive Care Unit at the hospital since the incident.

He allegedly injected a poisonous substance into his two children since police discovered used syringes and knives at the crime spot.

The doctor was found unconscious on his head before being whisked to the hospital for immediate attention pending murder charges in court.

Neighbours who grew suspicious after the doctor locked up himself together with his children alerted detectives who rushed to the scene of the crime only to find the boy’s lifeless body on the floor with foam coming out of their mouth.

His family broke their silence, expressing their shock and sadness over the incident, saying that the doctor loved his family so much that such a tragic outcome was never in view.

“Maneno haya ni mazito kufikiria...ndugu yangu hana ubaya na mtu...anapenda familia yake,” said Mary Gakara, sister to the deceased.

Upto his untimely death, Gakara was working as an Obstetrician at Optimum Current Hospital in Nakuru.
